Cyber Security Research Centre (CSRC) at Punjab Engineering College, as part of a major multi-year faculty hiring initiative for its M. Tech., in Computer Science & Information Security invites applications for rolling advertisement for the temporary engagement of faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor on contract for three years for the academic session beginning in February.

We seek outstanding candidates with a strong track record of research to strengthen and complement our current academic and research program. We are interested broadly in all areas of cybersecurity and privacy, including, but not limited to: Digital and Mobile Forensics, Ethical Hacking, Applied Cryptography; Cybercrime and Cyber Law, Social Media Analysis/Dark Web; Cyber Physical System (CPS) Security, IoT/ network, mobile/wearable Security, Cybersecurity Operations and Analytics, Machine Learning, Machine Learning for Security; Blockchain/ Cryptocurrencies Security, Privacy, Information warfare, etc.; Human Factors of cybersecurity and privacy.

A. Guidelines against Rolling advertisement for the temporary engagement of faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor in CSRC:

All candidates must have or expect to graduate with a Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science and preferably Information Security or a closely related field. Successful candidates are expected to steer research at national and international levels, bag externally funded research program, and contribute to graduate and undergraduate teaching. Successful candidates should demonstrate strong research potential and commitment to graduate and undergraduate education;

CSRC offers a highly collaborative interdisciplinary research environment with a strong, externally funded research program in cybersecurity and Cyber Physical Systems. The Institute has a strong Ph.D. program with over 130 Ph.D. students, and a rapidly growing M. Tech, in Computer Science & Information Security. Selected candidates will have to join within 30 days from the last date of current application cycle.

About Cyber Security Research Centre

CSRC was established in the Year 2007 with the primary focus to conduct applied Research & Development on cyber threats and countermeasures, secure multi-level information sharing, resilient command and control network architectures, social media and data analytics.

CSRC has now started to act as a think tank for the nation, and also envisions to bridge the gap by acting as an institutional frame work to bridge the divide between, the govt, the military and the industry. Many illustrious personalities from Defence and Industry are mentoring the Centre so that it emerges as a great asset for the National Security.

The Centre now has an established professional reputation in the area of Information security, Information Warfare, Mobile Sensing and has academic and research collaborations with peers from Singapore, Australia, London, USA and other overseas Universities and research institutions. The Centre has strong working relationships with Defence and National Security Agencies. In this endeavour, several training programmes for defence personnel and LEAs have been carried out and are planned PAN India at CSRC.

The Centre is also performing several outreach activities and is actively contributing towards framing of standards and guidelines, policies, metrics and practices to protect our nation’s information and communication systems.

CSRC with its strengths in Information Security has also started a flagship programme in ME CSE (Information Security) since the year 2010. The programme is now successfully running from last 09 years and 08 batches have already passed out. The alumni of CSRC are working in industries, have gone for higher education and also working in National Security Agencies. The research Centre has stimulated interdisciplinary research in the area of cybercrime and investigations, Information Warfare, Social Media Analytics, as well as legal and policy areas.
