The NSS unit of PEC University of Technology ended its annual 7-day-NSS camp today. The camp aimed at enhancing the professional and social skills of the first year volunteers through various rounds of group discussions on different sensitive topics.
Each day began with a physical exercise session, followed by various interactive sessions , guest lectures as well as field work. There was also a poster making competition on "Animal Welfare "and cleanliness campaign to promote PM Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. A campaign was conducted by NSS PEC to help in the enrolment of unregistered eligible voters of PEC.
The camp was inaugurated by Director Dr. Manoj K Arora, Dean Student Affairs Dr. Perminderjit Singh , Associate Dean Student Affairs Divya Bansal and the NSS-officer-in-charge Mrs. Loveleen Kaur. It was followed by an interactive talk by Mr. Gaurav Gaur, Assistant Professor at Punjab University to mark World AIDS Day.
The second day witnessed a lecture on "The Constitution of India, and its Architects "by Mr. Rajivlochan, Professor at Dept. of History, Punjab University.
The third day witnessed the presence of a retired professor of PEC, Dr. M. L. Gupta who answered the queries of students regarding economics and other diverse fields. Next up was a lecture by Mr. Praveen Bansal ,an entrepreneur who runs Abhimanyu Institute, who guided the students about various options to pursue in future after their graduation.
On Day 4, a lecture was delivered by Mr. Bhavdeep Romana, who is a part of Viral Claps, a campaign that aims to prevent littering and environment preservation. It was followed by a session by Mr. Rajiv Gupta, Municipal Commissioner, Chandigarh.
Day 5 consisted of an interactive session with Dr. Jyoti Seth on the topic "Gender Sensitization and Women Empowerment". The sixth day witnessed a lecture by Mr. Amit Hans based on "Communication Skills for Engineers".
Day 7 consisted of a session by Sh. Bikram Rana State Liaison Officer ,NSS, Chandigarh and Smriti Jha.
