The admission process for JAC 2018 is being coordinated by Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh.

Joint Admission Committee – 2018 is a body constituted by the Chandigarh Administration for conducting admissions to various B.E./ B.Tech./ B. Arch./ B.E.(Chemical)-MBA courses in the following institutions for the session 2018-19:

Applying for admission to any of the courses available at above institutions involves the following:

  • Online registration at admission website
  • Online payment of a non-refundable registration fee, and filling the registration fee payment details

Admissions will be made on the basis of JEE (Main) - 2018 All India Rank (AIR). There will be several rounds of online counselling followed by one last SPOT round of online counselling.

Note: Only the registered candidates will be able to participate in these rounds of counselling.

The total number of seats available in the institute is 667. Out of these seats, 331 seats are offered to candidates under Chandigarh quota and the remaining 336 seats are for Outside Chandigarh quota as per the following criteria:

(a) Chandigarh Quota: for all those candidates who have passed their qualifying examination (10+2) from schools / colleges located in the Union Territory, Chandigarh and recognized by the Chandigarh Administration.

(b) Outside Chandigarh Quota: for all those candidates who have passed their qualifying examination (10+2), but are not covered under category (a) above.

Admission of International Students

Admission of Foreign Nationals/Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) /Non – Resident Indians (NRIs) to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes for the session 2018-19 at Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh is under Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) Scheme of Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Seventy Five (75) seats are available for admission of international students in the institute.

Seat for Kashmiri Migrants

One additional seat in each branch is available for Kashmiri Migrants. These seats will not belong to any specific quota (Chandigarh / All India) and shall be filled on the basis of the rank in JEE (Main) - 2018 conducted by CBSE.

A candidate seeking admission against this reserved seat is required to produce the proof of being a state subject of Jammu & Kashmir and a certificate from the Deputy Commissioner / Relief Commissioner of the concerned district, to the effect that he/she belongs to a migrant family from Jammu & Kashmir and have valid domicile of J&K. The admission of a  candidate against this category will be provisional, subject to the verification of his/her above  mentioned certificates by the issuing authority.
