PEC University of Technology , Chandigarh and Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited has signed an MoU for knowledge sharing and technical exchange in the area of technology and smart grid. Both will jointly work for co-development of products and solutions for the electricity distribution market, through joint workshops, hackathon, seminars, short term courses and events in the areas of engineering, software and hardware related to electricity distribution
The MoU to this effect was signed by Prof. Manoj Arora, Director, PEC University of Technology and Sh. Praveer Sinha, MD,TPDDL, in presence of senior officers of both PEC University of Technology and TPDDL.
On this occasion Prof. Manoj Arora, Director PEC University said that PEC University of Technology is a premiere Institution in Northern region of India and has the required infrastructure, technology and manpower to carry out research and development in the field of electricity distribution and will collaborate in research and development involving UG/PG students and faculty in research programs in the area of electricity distribution. It will advance a culture of innovation and research which will serve our developmental needs at the University.
Sh. Praveer Sinha, CEO TPDDL said, TPDDL is a leading electricity distribution company in Delhi and is interested in exploring various opportunities to develop smart technology solutions for the larger interest of its consumers. TPDDL will provide the necessary industrial exposure to PEC and PEC will make use of the same in furtherance of the broad objectives of this MoU.
Dr. Tarlochan Kaur, HoD, EED said that a University in isolation can not succeed. It must engage deeply with industry sector and be mutually supportive. The signing of this MoU will enable us to further add value to our graduates and postgraduates by providing them cutting edge technology environment.
