Valedictory of STC’s on Digital Manufacturing and Additive Manufacturing on 28th February, 2022 by our honorable Director Sh. Baldev Setia and faculty of Punjab engineering college, Chandigarh.

The valedictory function of the STC’s “Digital manufacturing” and “Additive Manufacturing” conducted from 24th Feb 2022 to 28th Feb 2022 was organized by center of excellence Punjab engineering college. The Chief Guest of the valedictory function was Dr. Baldev Setia , Director, PEC. During the welcome address of the function, Dr. Baldev Setia addressed the participants about the latest trends of the manufacturing and Industry 4.0 and participants given the thankful note for the wonderful course.

Center of Excellence Awarded with the Certificate of Appreciation from Sh. Dharam Pal, IAS officer and Advisor to Administrator U.T. Chandigarh for organizing the Skill India Competition.

The Centre of Excellence Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh received a Certificate of Appreciation from Sh. Dharam Pal, the Senior IAS officer, and Advisor to Administrator U.T. Chandigarh. The certificate is awarded to the Centre of Excellence-Siemens in recognition of excellent performance during the national level of India Skills 2021 in the skilled trade Industrial Control.

World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) 2021: It is celebrated on 15 July with an objective to spread awareness about the importance of technical, vocational education training, and the development of other skills relevant to both local and global economies.
Let us tell you that Skill India is an initiative of the central government which was launched to empower the youth skill and make them more employable and more productive in their work environment.
This year also World Youth Skills Day will take place in a challenging context due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown measures that have led to the worldwide closure of technical and vocational training education and training (TVET) institutions, alarming the vitality of skills development.
According to UNESCO, it is estimated that nearly 70% of the world’s learners are affected by school closures across education levels. TVET institutions survey is jointly done by UNESCO, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the World Bank reported that distance learning is now the most common way of conveying skills with sizable difficulties regarding among others like curricula adaptation, trainee, and trainer preparedness, connectivity, or assessment and certification processes.

On 17-06-2021, Amar Ujala, a Hindi-language daily newspaper, published an article about establishing the Centre of Excellence Siemens (CoE Siemens) at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. The article highlighted the scope of training on Advance technology in the various engineering fields at CoE Siemens Punjab Engineering College. They also concluded that this type of advanced training program will benefit the MSME sector and result in closing the skill gap between students and industries.

Siemens Centre of Excellence at Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh has facilitated IIT-Ropar for 3D-printing of ‘Jivan Vayu’ device.

After signing of MoU between PEC and IIT Ropar, the team from IIT-Ropar has collaborated with Siemens Centre of Excellence at Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh for the project of 3D Printing of ‘Jivan Vayu’ device. The Program Director of CoE Siemens is Professor (Dr.) R.M Belokar and Dr. Suresh Chand, Lab Incharge Rapid Prototyping Lab in Siemens Centre of Excellence has coordinated to complete the project for 3D Printing of Jivan Vayu’ device. ‘Jivan Vayu’ device developed by IIT-Ropar is low-cost – the first of its kind in India, power-free, life-saving device for high-flow and low- cost Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) Therapy


MoU signed between PEC and Shoolini University for Research and Training

The MoU is centered around the collaborative and beneficial utilization of the Centre of Excellence – Siemens, PEC, to train the teachers and students on the latest technology.
