General Instructions
IMPORTANT POINTS OF ADMISSION PROCEDURE
- Online applications are invited for admission to the vacant seats of the M.Tech. programmes and the full-time sponsored seats of the M.Tech. programmes. Prospective candidates are advised to note that vacant seats may be available in all categories of all the M.Tech. programmes.
- M.Tech programmes have an optional one year exchange/ research internship/ industry internship at IITs/IIITs and other premier institutes or Research Centres or industries.
- Admission in M.Tech. programmes is based on the basis of merit of B.Tech.
- GATE Qualified candidates shall be admitted on the merit of GATE score. Preference will be given to GATE-qualified candidates over non-GATE candidates.
- Candidates are advised to read the admission brochure carefully before applying for admission.
- Any clause contained in this brochure is subject to alteration(s) and modification(s) without prior notice.
- Online registration can be done from 07.08.2023 to 20.08.2023 (till 05.00 p.m.).
- All the candidates desirous of taking admission in any of the M.Tech. programmes are required to register online on website https://pec.ac.in/admissions/mtech. There is no registration fee.
- The admitted candidates are required to deposit the fee as per the details given in Table- 1 in form of Demand Draft in favor of “Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) - Admissions” payable at Chandigarh.
- The candidates are required to produce all the originals certificates and fee at the time of counseling. No relaxation in time will be given for arranging the money or for bringing the original certificates from another place.
- All admissions to M.Tech. programmes shall be provisional and subject to approval by the Chairman Senate of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh.
- The candidate should bring all the original certificates, four passport size latest photograph and one set of self-attested photocopies of certificates at the time of counseling.
- Only those candidates who have passed their pre-final year/cleared all subjects up to 7th semester exam and appeared / passed in their qualifying exam (8th semester) should apply for admission. In case the result is awaited, they should furnish an undertaking as per Annexure-B given in this brochure at the time of counseling.
- Academic registration of all admitted candidates will take place in the institute on 22.08.2023 at 9.00 am.
- The schedule may change without prior notice. The candidates are therefore advised to visit the institute website https://pec.ac.in/admissions/mtech regularly for any change in the schedule.
- Candidates admitted without valid GATE will not get any GATE scholarship.
Step 1: Personal Details
Please read the general instructions carefully before starting the registration process. The process of online registration consists of three steps. All the eligible candidates are required to fill online Registration Form.
- Enter a valid email address and other personal details.
- On submission, a system generated username & password will be displayed on the screen. Note down this username and password for future reference.
Step 2: Educational Qualifications & Other Details
- Enter Academic Qualifications
- The candidate then has to upload the scanned images of Photograph and Signature.
- All Scanned images should be jpg/jpeg format only.
- Size of the photograph image must be greater than 4kb and less than 200kb. The photograph should preferably have the frontal face with a light background.
- Size of the signature image must be greater than 4kb and less than 100 kb.
- Dimension of photograph image should be 200x150(height x width) pixels only.
- Dimension of signature image should be 100 x 200 (height x width) pixels only.
- Choice Filling: The candidates have to select their choices of M.Tech. programme in order of their preference. (Note: List of available programme(s) will be based on B.E/B.Tech discipline of the candidate). The candidates can select as many choices from the list of available choices.
Step 3
- After successful completion the registration form and choice filling, a confirmation page will be generated.
- The candidates are advised to keep one copy of the confirmation page with them for future reference.
