A Robotics Club initiative

For the first time, there will be participation of PECUT team in international event named Robocon. Every year Robocon is organized by ABU (Asia pacific broadcasting union). The national qualifiers are organized by Dordarshan. Problem statement is released by the country holding the international event in August. National qualifier is generally scheduled in March are held in Pune.

Recruitments are open for all. There are two teams namely Core and Extended team. Each team will consist of 10 students (approx.).

Core team members will have the privilege to go to Pune for participation in national qualifiers and mainly will consist of 2nd, 3rd & 4rth yearites . Extended team on the other hand will be recruited from 1st, 2nd & 3rd year people for working with core team, to get exposure of Robocon and future perspectives.

Note :- Once selected in respective team transition from extended to Core and vice verse is possible on the basis :-

1) Dedication and Work done by one

2) Vacancy.

Core team members are required to confirm their availability till march 2010 for Robocon.

This is a great opportunity for all budding engineers to showcase their talent and take PECUT to new hieghts of innovasion in technology.

Further there will be two groups of people namely:-

1) Embedded group.

2) Mechanical Design group.

Each group will be supported with mentors for assistance and help. Workshops will be held to increase the level of knowledge.

If one is interested in Embedded, prerequisites are Programming (C/C++), knowledge about controllers, sensors, PCB designing etc.

If one interested in Mechanical design the prerequisites are acquainted with working on CATIA/ PRO E, basic knowledge of manufacturing, motors, calculations regarding mechanics, Designing and knowhow of linkages.
