Art and Photography Club (APC)
Known for its fun filled environment, APC is a club organizing different art and photography related events like pot painting, clay modelling, intra-club projects, workshops on painting, sketching, photography techniques, designing softwares etc. involving loads of creativity and enjoyment. Members here are always coming up with new innovative ideas to involve everyone around and leave an impact. It is a platform for enhancing your event management skills, teamwork; bringing out your creativity & imagination!
The Art and Photography Club is the most creative, the most innovative, most hands on and the most adventurous club of the college. At APC we love to stay off the beaten track, take on challenges that others refuse to consider and doing things our way. It is about being free, being creative, thinking differently and expressing oneself.
The odd semester started on the 24th of July 2008. The activities undertaken by the club during the semester so far are as follows:-
Orientation 08 (24th and 25th July): As an annual ritual the college organized a two day orientation programme for the 1st year students. The task of decorations was handled by the Art and Photography club members.
Wings released (24th July): The annual magazine of the club released with full enthusiasm among the members and the college crowd. “Wings” was launched as a vision, and dedicated to Late Charu Puri, former secretary, Art & Photography Club. It’s a magazine having articles on art and photography written, designed and edited by the members.
Recruitments (13th August): New members were recruited in the organization. Over 150 forms were received from the interested students. Around 80 candidates were short listed for the interviews, of which 25 successfully paved their way to the club including 23 from the first year and 2 from the second year.
Workshops (24th and 25th Sep): Conducted by Prof Ravinder Sharma of GCA (Government College of Arts, sector 10). These workshops were held mainly for the new recruits. Painting, caricatures, collage making and charcoal sketching were the highlights. Photography Workshops was conducted by the renowned photographer Mr. Pradeep Tewari from The Tribune, Chandigarh.
Plans for the future
Here is a list of events that the club plans to hold in the coming months:
- OIL PAINTINGS & GLASS PAINTINGS: Teach the budding artists how to work with oil paints and glass paints to decorate the canvas with their beautiful imaginations.
- FUN QUIZ: Reform the currently held quiz to make it better and more towards creativity and IQ so that people enjoy it more.
EIFFEL TOWER MODEL: Create a large model of the Eiffel Tower using only ice cream sticks and glue.
- FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY: Hold a special workshop on Fashion Photography with the help of Professional photographers and Models.
- ART EXHIBITION: Hold a large art exhibition in the college which would include paintings and other art pieces made by the club members. This would encourage more effort from their side

- PHOTOGRAPHY EVENT: To encourage the hobby in the members. Exciting prizes up for stake.
- PEC's MAP/MODEL: Create a model or a map of PEC fully updated to replace the one outside the Audi which is very old.
- Events with other clubs: Organize events in association with the other clubs of college to revive the extra curricular environment and to instill the habits in the students to be active in all fields
The club hopes to see even higher growth during PECFEST08 as well as in the time to come.
