CSIO – PEC MoU

A MoU was signed by Dr. Manoj Datta, Director, Punjab Engineering College (Deemed University), Chandigarh and Dr.Pawan Kapoor, Director, Central Scientific Instruments Organization, Chandigarh, on 1st August ’08 to promote Academic and Research Co-operation between the two institutions. A number of areas have been identified as areas of mutual interest. These include machines & Structural Health Monitoring, Virtual Instrumentation, Image Processing, Soft Computing Technology, Material Science, Metallurgy, Nanotechnology, Aerospace Instrumentation and HRD. Various departments of PEC will be involved as per their areas of interest. Other spheres of cooperation involve exchange or deputation of staff, organizing joint events like workshops, courses and conferences, sharing of research facilities and the researchers. The MoU also recognizes CSIO as the research center of PEC so that the employees of CSIO can also register for Doctorate programmes at PEC in mutually agreed area programmes. In each semester, 10-15 selected students of B.Tech. and M.Tech. in the respective areas of specialization of PEC will be allowed to do project work at CSIO.
