Sponsored Student Society lectures

TEQIP sponsored Student Society lectures:

A scheme for financial assistance is allowed from Key activity 5 of TEQIP-II “Enhanced Interaction with Industry” to cover the travel and other expenses of upto two speakers each year at students’ society meetings. Funds will be made available to each society to support TWO lectures on ‘Engineering and Technology’ topics per academic year.

 

Following norms will be followed:

  • A Student Society is eligible for support if It is run mainly by and for students, postgraduates as well as undergraduates.
  • The invited speakers will be reimbursed directly for reasonable costs of travel and accommodation as per the institute norms. Air travel will be permissible only as a special case with prior approval of Director PEC.
  • If the speaker is entertained to meal before and after the Lecture only the costs for the speaker and 2 to 3 member of the committee including Faculty In charge may be claimed as per the institute norms. The Student Society will be reimbursed directly.
  • All claims are paid retrospectively and must be supported by receipts reimbursement will be after submission of report.
  • Retrospective applications will not be considered.
  • Applications must be made on the appropriate form, duly recommended by O/I Technical Societies.
  • One page summary duly signed by the Faculty In charge on the expert lecture activity should be submitted.
