ECE LAB - IX (Wireless Design and Planning/ Communication Lab )(UG/PG)

Objective of the lab :

  • To train the students in the field of Communication, Wireless Communication, Data Communication, Digital Signal Processing and Computer Architecture.
  • To enable the students to design ,model and simulate the various networks by using Qualnet 5.0.
  • To enable the students to design and simulate the various VLSI circuits using Xilinx software and FPGA kits
  • To provide the facilities for doing the projects of B.E. and M.E. students.
  • To provide the facilities for M.E. thesis.
  • Provide the facilities for research work for Ph.D. students

GSM Application Board

GSM Application Board : The GSM Application Board is intended for beginners who would like to explore the 8051 Microcontroller core and application based on the core. The feature of In-system Programming which allows user to download new code and without removing the microcontroller. The application board works on industry standard GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 MHz.

BlueTooth Application Board

BlueTooth Application Board : The BlueTooth Application Board has got Analog to Digital convertor and LM-35 Temperature Sensing section, Real Time Control and EEPROM Section, Display (LCD, LED) section, 4x4 Matrix Keypad Section, Stepper Motor Section and RS 232 (for serial communication) Section on board. Bluetooth technology uses short range radio to communicate with other electronic devices. It is a low cost radio link between various devices. Bluetooth is based on Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS). During a typical operation one devise provides the synchronization reference and is known as master and all other devices are known as slaves. A group of devices synchronized in this fashion form a Piconet. This is the fundamental form of communication for Bluetooth wireless technology.

RFID Application Board 

RFID Application Board : The RFID Application Board has got ADC section using (0804) section, Real Time Control and EEPROM Section, Display (LCD, LED) section, Input Section, Relay Section, Buzzer Section, RS-232 (for serial communication) section, RFID section, Stepper Motor Section. Using RFID Board you can connect small devices and transfer data upto 2000 bytes or less. The RFID (Radio-frequency identification system) has three parts, A scanning antenna, a Transceiver with a decoder to interpret the data, a transponder – the radio frequency tag – that has been programmed with information.

WiFi Development Board

WiFi Development Board : WiFi Development Board has got Analog to Digital Convertor ans LM-35 temperature sensing section, Real Time Control and EEPROM Section, Display (LCD, LED), 4X4 Matrix Keypad Section, Relay and Buzzer Section, Stepper Motor section, RS-232 (for serial Communication) section. The board has been mounted with P89V51RD2 microcontroller and a flash memory of 4k, which can be expanded to 516K in EEPROM Section.

Wireless Sensor Network Class Room Kit

Wireless Sensor Network Classroom Kit : The iSense Environmental Sensor Module combines a thermometer and a light sensor for environmental monitoring. The isense Core module is based on a Jennic JN5148 wireless microcontroller a chip that combines the controller and wireless communication transceiver in a single housing.

ACT-14 Data Communication Trainer Kit

It is a modular system for the development of exercises and theoretical – experimental courses to understand the basic concept and working of modes like IR, Optical, RJ45 (FSK modulator-FSK demodulator) and protocols in serial and parallel communication.

Universal Communication Development Kit

Universal Communication Development Kit : Digital Communication system represents the information in binary digits. The basic principle of Digital Communication is sampling, multiplexing, encoding, error control coding, data conditioning and carrier modulation etc. In encoding we represent sample data pattern in different formats. In carrier modulation, carrier is modulated as per modulating signal. Digital communication is the technique by which the whole information is represented in binary digits and these digits are represented by discrete voltage levels and the clock frequency of a digital communication scheme is generally low.

GSM/ GPRS Development Board : By using this kit the students can know how to use ECE flash magic and how to use ECE flash with 8051 microcontroller. This kit can provide the knowledge to the students regarding 8051 GSM application in embedded GSM.

QAM Modulation, Demodulation Kit : QAM trainer kits provide the information regarding principal of advance digital modulation and demodulation, fundamental of coding and carrier modulation techniques, ASK, FSK, PSK and QAM modulation and demodulation. Wireless Sensor Network Develop System : By using this kits the students can have the knowledge of how to configure the coordinate. The end device the module in broadband mode, the module in unnicast mode, use the API mode. The student can also learn how to send at commands using API mode as well as use device in broadcast mode using at command/ micro controller programming, to use devices in unicast mode using microcontroller program.

XBEE Coordinator 866 MHz : By using this kit the following experiments are to be performed. How to configure XBEE module, two XBEE module in RF mode, XBEE module I broadcast mode. What is the API and how does it work and how to read destination address module using API mode.

DSP starter kit TMS320C6713

DSP starter kit TMS320C6713 : The TMS320C613 DSP starter kit developed jointly with spectrum digital is a low cost development of high precision applications based on TI’s TMS320c6000 floating point DSP generation . The kit uses USB communications for true plug and play functionality.

The c6713 DSK tools includes the latest fast simulators from T1 and access to the analyses tool kit via update, advisor which features the code analyses tool and multievent profiler.

The c6713 DSK allows to download and step through code quickly and uses real time data exchange for improved host and target communication.

It includes fast run time support libraries and utilizes such as flash burn to program flash, update advisor to download tools.

DAQ card 725

DAQ card 725 : it is a high performance data acquisition board for the PCI bus. They are multifunction I/O boards and features both analog and digital I/O on the same board.

Application includes analog input streaming, voltage measurements, voltage reference outputs, analog and digital data processing, digital I/O for control of relays , frequency counter for event logging and much more.
