Laboratories and Equipments used in Production Engineering Department:

Laboratories:

• CAD/CAM Lab: This lab is divided into two sections- Hardware and Software. The hardware section is equipped with a CNC Vertical Machining Center, Table Top Robot, CNC- Mill trainer kit, ADC & DAC computer interface peripherals, EPROM tester and recorder, etc.
  The software section has the latest servers and Pentium workstations from HCL for the each individual student to hone his/her skills in Quest, Virtual NC, AutoCAD (R14 & 2000), C, C++, Visual Basic, etc. The students are extensively using the lab for Creative Design, Simulation and Project work.
• TQM/SQC Lab: The students learn the practicalities of SPC, MSA, Dummy Quality Circles and other TQM related activities helpful in solving industrial problems as projects.
• Metrology Lab: With instruments like Autocollimator, Tool Maker’s Microscope, Talysurf, UMM, etc. the lab inculcates measurement and calibration skills.
• Machine Tools & Metal Cutting Lab: The Lab has more than 30 lathes, shaping & planning machines, grinding machines and also a HMT precision lathe and drilling machines for students to practice machining skills.
• Manufacturing Lab: The manufacturing lab has machines like EDM, Jig Boring, Draw Bench and HMT CNC machine to make students aware and practice advanced manufacturing concepts.
• Work Study Lab: The lab is equipped with Projectors to view films on material handling, recording techniques, etc. The students put to use the rules of work-study and ergonomics for developing appropriate methods, layouts and designs.
