The computer centre is the central point where the Fiber optic from Rail Tel terminates for Internet connectivity (8 Mbps, 1:1), and further emanates to the 16 departments. The existing college network has Fiber Optic & ATM backbone whereby 16 departments are connected with the computer centre.
Computer Centre provides computational facilities to all users in the Institute. Eligible students, staff and faculty from all Departments, Schools and Centers in the campus can obtain accounts on the High End Systems. CC provides electronic mail, world wide web, and other services. CC also provides various advanced and special purpose software's as well as different operating systems, for all the campus users. The Centre remains open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on weekdays and 9:00am to 5:00 pm on Saturdays.The Computer Centre, at present consists of the network infrastructure, like switches, hubs and PEC web-identity (www.pec.ac.in). Centre also houses cluster of Linux & Window2000 based servers for mailing (http://mail.pec.ac.in), Internet bandwidth management, firewall.
The Main activities of these centralized computational facilities are to:

Provide, update, manage and ensure the satisfactory operation of computational facilities for the students, faculties and departments

Provide technical assistance to various users

Monitoring of the computer network at the institute, and the management of overall computer facilities for the whole institute

Provide computer facilities for the institute administration.
